About Java Software
Java software allows you to run applications called
"applets" that are written in the Java programming language. These
applets allow you to play online games, chat with people around
the world, and view images in 3D.
The software you need to view these applets is
usually installed on your PC by default when it is purchased. However,
you might have inadvertently 'switched it off', or disabled Java
in some way. It is also possible that an Internet firewall might
prevent a Java application from running, such as Norton Internet
Security.
How to check if Java is 'turned on' in Internet Explorer
Go to your 'tools' menu in Internet Explorer,
and click on 'Internet Options'.
Click on the 'Advanced' tab, and scroll down until you see the Java
icon looking something like below:
You need to make sure that the box is ticked -
as in the picture above.
How to download the latest FREE Java Software
You can download the latest Java software from
the Java
Website. In many cases, this will solve any problems you may
be experiencing as it will allow you to load the latest software
onto your PC, and may also override any settings you may have which
are stopping the Java from running.
